[ARCHIVED] Survey: Future Sound Transit Service

Sound Transit is working to address its capital program affordability gap caused by lower tax revenues and rising real estate and construction costs.

Sound Transit’s first priority for closing an affordability gap is to seek new funding from federal and state governments and other sources, without increasing sales, property or motor vehicle excise (car tab) tax rates.

At the same time, the Board will identify potential changes that could help Sound Transit’s budget stay on track. This could mean delaying construction, phasing, and/or modifying the scope of future projects. The Board also has the option of eliminating full projects.

Take this short online survey by April 30 to share your top priorities for Eastside projects, including:

  • Building a new Link light rail line connecting South Kirkland to Issaquah with stations at downtown Bellevue and Eastgate.
  • Adding Stride bus rapid transit to north I-405, between Lynnwood City Center and downtown Bellevue, with stations at Canyon Park, SR 522 and Kirkland.
  • Adding Stride bus rapid transit to south I-405 between Burien and downtown Bellevue, with stations in Tukwila, South Renton and NE 44th.
  • Adding Stride bus rapid transit to SR 522/ NE 145th Street connecting north Lake Washington cities to Link light rail at the Shoreline South/NE 148th Station.
  • Building a North Sammamish Park-and-Ride.
