[ARCHIVED] Update: 2020 Costco Robbery

August 2, 2020, at 6:23 A.M. a stolen truck, occupied by three subjects all carrying firearms, drove from Oregon into the front doors of the Issaquah Costco. The subjects fired their weapons, caused damage to the building, stole jewelry, and loss of business due to closing the store for the day at total estimated loss of $800,000.

Two Oregon men, Joseph E. Jacobs and Abdul Qasim Ray Zahir, were arrested and charged after a seven month long dual state collaboration. Issaquah Police Detectives dedicated hundreds of hours to the investigation. With the assistance of the Portland Police Bureau FBI Safestreets Task Force, Issaquah Police were able to collect the evidence needed to make the arrests. Jacobs was arrested in Portland at a hospital, and Zahir was arrested in Everett, WA at a casino. Jacobs and Zahir are charged with Robbery in the First-Degree with a firearm enhancement, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm in the 2nd Degree.   

Both suspects have prior criminal histories and are being held on $250,000 bail.
