It’s not a matter of if we’ll face a disaster, but when. Are we ready?
To help prepare for disasters, you’re invited to join City of Issaquah and King County staff as the county shares the results of its study on vulnerability.
This study will help us and other local governments plan projects to help reduce the risk from hazards before they happen, and to recover more quickly afterward.
The county is hosting a series of free public workshops where you can learn more about how to reduce the impacts of disasters, and receive potential damage estimates for your property.
You’ll also learn about the hazards that we face, and how vulnerable your home may be to these hazards. The workshop schedule is:Sept. 15, 201310 a.m.-5 p.m., Auburn Plaza ParkSept. 24, 20136-8 p.m., Shoreline City HallSept. 25, 20136-8 p.m., Kent Senior Activity CenterSept. 26, 20136-8 p.m., Kirkland City Hall
More dates and locations may be scheduled soon. Learn more at King County’s hazard mitigation website.
You can also complete a survey to help leaders plan to reduce the risk of injury and property damage from future disasters.
