[ARCHIVED] Now Open: Let's Celebrate Our Newest Park

Let’s celebrate summer — and the opening of our community’s newest park.

Join us from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 28, 2013, for a barbecue at Confluence Area Park, 695 Rainier Blvd. N. We’ve got dinner covered — our all-American menu of hot dogs hot off the grill, pie and ice cream. We’ve also got inflatable games for our youngest guests and live music for the grown-ups.

The celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. Come by to explore the landscape, learn from our staff members and, if you meet the height requirement, jump around in a bounce house or run an inflatable obstacle course. Then, at 6 p.m., grab some dinner and hear from leaders involved in the project. Use #bbquah to share your stories and photos!

Confluence Parks Area is the crown jewel in the City of Issaquah parks system. For more than a decade, this verdant stretch along Issaquah Creek was envisioned as a beautiful park.

Now, that vision is reality.

Confluence Area Park is comprised of three contiguous parks: Tollë Anderson, Cybil-Madeline and Issaquah Creek. Combined, the land encompasses 15.5 acres at the confluence of Issaquah Creek’s main stem and East Fork.

Features include interconnecting trails, a meadow, play areas, a restroom facility and, as its centerpiece, a picnic structure designed to evoke the land’s roots as the Anderson Farm. To learn more, visit our project website.
