[ARCHIVED] Update: City's Emergency Management Efforts

City of Issaquah’s new Emergency Manager position was filled in August 2021, and this report summarizes the variety of Issaquah's emergency management activities since that time, as well as planned future work:

  • Special projects (Mobile Satellite Trailer, COVID-19 response, AM – 1700 radio upgrade)
  • Education and outreach (Salmon Days, Community Emergency Response Team training, disaster skills training)
  • Planning and preparedness (Continuity of Operations, Mass Care, Hazard Mitigation, Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, Wildland Fire Evacuation)
  • Training and exercise (2021-2023 Training and Exercise Plan, Cascadia Rising 2022)

In addition, the update included an After Action Report following the East Fork flood event from early January 2022.
