[ARCHIVED] Road Work: Rainier Blvd S and 1st Ave SE

City crews will be performing concrete repairs and asphalt repaving on 1st Ave SE, SE Andrews St. and Rainier Blvd S — known as City Hall South Loop. This is part of the Pavement Management Program (PMP).

Work is expected to begin the week of June 27 and Phase 1 should be completed within two weeks.

Phase 1

Work during Phase 1 will be improving existing pedestrian access ramps along Rainier Trail to bring them up to current standards as well as spot concrete repairs to parking stalls. Most of the work can be performed by utilizing the parking areas and not the travel lanes. There will be minimal impacts to motorized travel through the work zone.

Phase 2

Once those improvements have been made, the PMP team will be grinding down the existing roadway surface and replacing it with new asphalt material within the coming months.

Questions related to the project can be emailed to Petey Pierotti, PMP Construction Inspector.
