[ARCHIVED] State Park: What’s Your Vision?

State Park - By Brian Oevermann

What’s your vision for Lake Sammamish State Park? Join us for an open house at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at Tibbetts Creek Manor, 750 17th Ave. N.W., to share your thoughts!

The City of Issaquah and the state park are partnering together to plan for the park’s future – and are looking for other groups, organizations and people to help. As a starting place, the city’s Economic Vitality Commission came up with a list of preliminary ideas – for discussion only – on what could be added to the park:

• Places for bicycling/rollerblading
• Wildlife viewing areas
• Community gardens
• Natural classrooms
• A dog park
• A children’s hedge maze
• A spray park
• Bike/boat rentals
• Boat fueling/supplies
• An amphitheater
• A lodge
• A fishing pier
• Geocaching areas
• Apartments
• Restaurants
• Disk golf areas
• A fun zone (arcade)
• A turf field complex

At this point, these ideas are simply to get the discussions going. We want to hear from you!
