[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert: I-90 Closures and Lane Reductions

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be fixing potholes and repairing the road between the Preston interchange at Southeast 82nd Street and Highlands Drive in Issaquah. Expect long delays and disruption, please plan accordingly. Follow the WSDOT blog for more detailed information. See information on the first set of closures below.

First Set of Closures

April 10-April 12 Closures

  • Date/time: April 10 at 10 a.m. through April 12 at 6 p.m.
  • Location: WSDOT will reduce a section of westbound I-90 east of Issaquah (between Exit 18 and 20) to one lane around the clock. The construction will be 3.5 miles west of the Preston interchange (see map below). 
  • Purpose: Fix potholes, repair pavement, replace bridge deck

The lane reduction provides a safe work area for the people repairing I-90. These are a continuation of repairs WSDOT began in summer 2022. 

April 17-April 19 Closure

  • Date/time: April 17 at 10 a.m. through April 19 at 6 p.m.
  • Location: WSDOT will reduce a section of westbound I-90 east of Issaquah (between Exit 18 and 20) to one lane around the clock. The construction will be 3.5 miles west of the Preston interchange (see map below).  
  • Purpose: Fix potholes, repair pavement, replace bridge deck

May 14-18 Closure

  • Date/time: May 14 at 9 p.m. through May 18 at 4 a.m.
  • Location: WSDOT will reduce a section of westbound I-90 east of Issaquah to one lane around the clock. The construction will be 1 mile west of the Preston interchange (see map below).   
  • Purpose: Fix potholes, repair pavement, replace bridge deck

May 21-25 Closure

  • Date/time: May 21 at 9 p.m. through May 25 at 4 a.m.
  • Location: WSDOT will reduce a section of westbound I-90 east of Issaquah to one lane around the clock. The construction will be 1 mile west of the Preston interchange (see map below).
  • Purpose: Fix potholes, repair pavement, replace bridge deck

Second Set of Closures

WSDOT is planning four additional multi-day closures in the same area of I-90 to support bridge deck repairs. These will occur on westbound I-90 about 4 miles west of the Preston interchange, and on eastbound I-90 about a mile east of the interchange. WSDOT has not yet released the dates of these.
