Location: 1800 BLK 15TH PL NW
Description: On 04/10/23, an outside agency called reporting concern for the safety of a juvenile with a warrant out for their arrest. Based on intelligence gathered, officers went to a local hotel and were able to confirm the juvenile was staying there. Officers were able to make contact and arrest the juvenile on said warrant for their arrest before transferring them to the appropriate King County facility.

Location: 700 BLK NW Gilman BLVD
Description: Around 1536 hours, a local business called to report a shoplifting theft. A black male wearing nearly all black clothing grabbed a vacuum and Cricut maker appliance and left in a white Pontiac. Using the footage of the suspect and description of the vehicle, officers were able to identify the subject and cited them for Theft in the 3rd Degree.

Location: 1700 BLK Newport Way NW
Description: A local resident called at to report witnessing a man running downhill with a white fluffy dog on a pink leash, holding what appeared to be a large machete. Responding officers conducted area checks but were unable to locate anyone matching that description with a white dog. It is unconfirmed if there was a large machete or something other that appeared like it upon passing.

Location: NW Talus DR & Timber Ridge Way NW
Description: On 04/11/2023 at 1507 hours, officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of NW Talus Drive and Timber Ridge Way NW. Callers had notified dispatchers that the pedestrian had minor injuries and aid was advised. After investigation, it was determined the vehicle had failed to yield to the pedestrian by making a left-hand turn in front of the pedestrian, thus striking them. The driver was issued a citation.

Location: 2000 BLK NW Boulder Way DR
Description: Around 2052 hrs, a local resident called reporting a white male outside attempting to gain entry to their home. They reportedly asked him to leave, and the subject kept trying their door handle. The resident cancelled the call due to the man leaving but officers responded just in case and conducted an area check for the man described. They were unable to locate the individual. If you have similar incidents, please feel free to reach out to IPD to report them.

Location: 1600 BLK 11TH AVE NW
Description: On 04/12/23, an employee called to report their vehicle was broken into while they were working. They found the front passenger side door lock punched out and their clothing and paperwork was missing. Unfortunately, there is no suspect information at the present time. Officers are awaiting video footage from the local business to attempt to identify the suspect.

Location: 1400 BLK 10TH Way NE
Description: Around 2050 hrs, a local business called to report a white female with orange hair and bright yellow clothing had potentially concealed clothing while in the fitting room. Officers made contact with the subject who admitted to stealing merchandise. The subject additionally had multiple bank cards that did not belong to them. The cards were all destroyed, the subject was arrested on Theft in the 3rd Degree and all merchandise was returned to the local business.

Location: 100 BLK 1ST AVE NW
Description: On 04/13/23 a call was received reporting an unoccupied vehicle had apparently hit a parked vehicle and was left abandoned in the street. Upon arrival, officers noticed both vehicles had sustained severe damage. Contact was made with the registered owner of the parked vehicle and the abandoned vehicle was impounded due to it blocking the lane of travel.

Description: Around 1834 hrs, a call was received from local residents reporting a neighbor walking around yelling profanities and had threatened them with a knife. Responding officers detained the subject, confiscated the weapon, and arrested the subject upon investigation of Felony Harassment.

Time/Date: 1253, 04/14/23
Location: 1400 BLK 10TH Way NE
Description: On 04/14/23, a woman was observed setting up camp in the parking lot of a local business and attempting to cut down trees with a machete. The responding officer made contact and requested the subject cease cutting trees and pack their belongings up. The subject gathered their items and left without incident.

Location: 1800 BLK NW Gilman BLVD
Description: On 04/15/23, a local employee called to report that their business received a call from an individual claiming to be a King County Sheriff Officer, requesting payment through Cash App for failing to meet a summons for jury duty. Fortunately, they did not pay the caller.
NOTE: Never send money to anyone you do not recognize. No law enforcement officer will call and request payments, especially through an app. If you ever have concerns that someone identifying themselves as an officer may not be legitimate, please feel free to contact the police department for verification.
Call Type: Burglary Report
Time/Date: 1107, 04/16/23
Location: 5800 BLK 221ST PL SE
Description: On 04/16/23, a call was received reporting at least 6 storage units were discovered having been broken into. It is unknown if anything was taken from the units. IPD is actively investigating and is awaiting video footage of the incident.
