A roadway improvement project is beginning on Monday, April 24 on 12th Ave NW at the intersection with state Route 900/17th Ave NW and NW Sammamish Road. The project is expected to be completed by early November 2023.
This construction will:
- Widen 12th Ave NW and providing an additional left turn lane onto SR 900/17th Ave NW
- Widen northbound SR 900/17th Ave NW and providing an exclusive right turn lane onto 12th Ave NW
- Create of protected bike lanes, sidewalks and illumination along 12th Ave NW
- Update curb ramps and traffic signals at the intersection of 12th Ave NW and SR 900/17th Ave NW/NW Sammamish Road
Work hours will be Monday through Thursday, between 7 a.m.-5 p.m.
Traffic Flow Changes and Detour Route
During the project, traffic on 12th Ave NW will be restricted to one way eastbound/southbound travel. One-way traffic on 12th Ave will be in place outside of working construction hours. There may be short duration single lane closures on SR 900/17th Ave NW/NW Sammamish Road during the installation and upgrades of traffic signals at the intersection with 12th Ave NW.
Parking lot entrances to businesses will remain open along 12th Ave NW except for staggered closures during paving at the end of the project.
A detour will be in place that utilizes Lake Drive, 11th Ave NW and NW Sammamish Road. This will be in place outside of working hours.
