Our community is invited to support the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank at its first-ever fundraiser.
The nonprofit organization is hosting its Recipe for Hope Breakfast on Oct. 17, 2013.
Funds raised at the breakfast will support current efforts to provide healthy food options to clients; build services and programs that enrich lives, such as the Summer Lunch Program, Tools for Schools, Fruit Tree Gleaning and Financial Literacy Program; and fund future expansion to better serve the community.
The breakfast will be held at Eastridge Church, 24205 S.E. Fall City Road. Doors will open at 7 a.m., and the program will be from 7:30-8:30 a.m. A minimum $100 donation to the food bank is requested.
The keynote speaker will be James Whitfield, Leadership Eastside CEO, and State Sen. Mark Mullet will serve as the emcee. The event will also feature testimonials from food bank clients.
The food bank’s service area borders the boundaries of the Issaquah School District. The food bank serves residents in Issaquah, Bellevue, Newcastle, Renton, Sammamish and unincorporated King County. The clothing bank, which is one of only a few in our region, serves a much larger population.
