[ARCHIVED] Daylight Saving Time: Change Your Smoke Detector Battery

As you prepare to fall back with the end of daylight saving time at 2 a.m. Nov. 3, 2013, remember to change the battery in your smoke detector.

Our partners at Eastside Fire & Rescue are participating in Change Your Clock Change Your Battery, a national fire-safety program that urges Americans to change smoke detector batteries when clocks are changed for daylight saving time each fall.

Firefighters will be at participating businesses to encourage families to make a simple change that could save a life.

You can get a free 9-volt battery, while supplies last, from Eastside Fire & Rescue firefighters from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 2, 2013, at The Home Depot, 6200 E. Lake Sammamish Parkway S.E.
