[ARCHIVED] - Fire Protection: We’re Committed to the Partnership -

As the members of Eastside Fire & Rescue consider the agency’s future, the City of Issaquah is setting the record straight and reiterating its commitment to the partnership.

In addition to the City of Issaquah, members include the cities of North Bend and Sammamish, and King County fire protection districts 10 and 38. Eastside Fire & Rescue was founded on the principle that these organizations work better together as partners than individuals with regard to resources and governance.

“Issaquah is strongly committed to Eastside Fire & Rescue and does not want to see Sammamish drop out of that regional fire service,” Issaquah City Council President Fred Butler said. “I believe that we can reach an agreement in a timely manner.”

During a council committee work session Nov. 12, 2013, Issaquah councilmembers will discuss a resolution expressing the City’s commitment to Eastside Fire & Rescue.
