[ARCHIVED] Attention, Green Thumbs: Get Free Native Plants

Find free native plants for your garden at upcoming plant salvage events in Issaquah Highlands.

The events will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 7 and Dec. 14, 2013. This is a great way to find native plants for your garden, yard or restoration project. The plants will be salvaged from a site before it is cleared for development.

These native plants are adapted to our Pacific Northwest climate. They require less watering, are more resistant to disease, and offer improved habitat for birds and wildlife.

To reach the site from Interstate 90 and Highlands Drive Northeast, turn right on Northeast Discovery Drive, and then left on 10th Avenue Northeast. Then, take the first right on Northeast Falls Drive, and look for signs.

Bring your own hand tools and plant containers. All materials must be removed from the site each day after the salvage.

Attendees must sign a release form. Anybody under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
