[ARCHIVED] You're Invited: Join Us to Celebrate Mayor Ava Frisinger's Service

Ava Frisinger will soon retire as the longest-serving mayor in the City of Issaquah’s history.

You’re invited to a community celebration to honor her dedication and service to Issaquah.

The celebration will be from 5-8 p.m. Jan. 9, 2014, at Hilton Garden Inn, 1800 N.W. Gilman Blvd. Throughout the evening, attendees can sample hors d’oeuvres and share stories.

Frisinger has served as mayor for 16 years and has lived in Issaquah for more than 40 years. She first took office as mayor in January 1998, and was then re-elected in 2001, 2005 and 2009. Frisinger is now serving her fourth term, which will end Dec. 31, 2013.

In addition to serving as mayor, Frisinger is a member of numerous regional committees, commissions and boards. She is president of the executive board of Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery and, time permitting, volunteers as a docent at the hatchery when the salmon return in the fall.
