With a commitment to serve our community, Fred Butler formally took office Jan. 6, 2014, as mayor of Issaquah.
“I will do my best to represent our citizens and the City of Issaquah with wisdom and compassion,” he said in his first address as the City's elected leader.
Butler was elected mayor in November 2013 to succeed former Mayor Ava Frisinger, who served for 16 years.
Issaquah Municipal Court Judge N. Scott Stewart administered the oaths of office to Butler and four recently elected Issaquah City Council members at the council’s Jan. 6 meeting.
