[ARCHIVED] Donations Needed: Oso Mudslide Relief Effort

You can donate to Oso mudslide relief efforts throughout Issaquah.

In our community, the relief effort is spearheaded by the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, Eastside Fire & Rescue and the Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund. These organizations are working to collect donations and financial donations to purchase additional supplies.

Drop off your donations at the following locations:

• 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 30: In front of The Home Depot, 6200 E. Lake Sammamish Parkway S.E., and Lowe’s Home Improvement, 1625 11th Ave. N.W.

• Anytime before 9 a.m. April 1 at any Eastside Fire & Rescue Station (preferably Rescue Station 71, 190 E. Sunset Way)

The items below are needed. (Both new and used items are welcome.)

• Shell gas cards

• Heavy -duty raingear (the rubber type, not cloth or Gore-Tex)

• Rubber rain boots

• Chainsaw items, such as bar oil; rolls of chainsaw chain; chains that fit an 18-inch, 24-inch or larger size bar; and chain files

• Shovels

• Heavy -duty metal rakes

• Hatchets

• Fuel mix (two-stroke oil)

• Axes

• Picks

• Socks (synthetic material only; no cotton, please)

• Long underwear (synthetic material only; no cotton, please)

• Towels

• Hand trowels or any had tool for fine digging

We’re proud of the way our generous community has responded to the Oso mudslide recovery and relief effort.

On March 27, 2014, community members donated more than 30,000 pounds of food and supplies at the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank. Those donations immediately went to the relief effort in Darrington.
