[ARCHIVED] Garden Secrets: Discover Your Green Thumb

Get the most out of your garden with helpful tips on growing vegetables and edible plants from Master Gardeners.

We’re hosting Master Gardens for a free training at our Issaquah Community Garden from 10-11:30 a.m. May 10, 2014. The event will be at the Confluence Area Parks picnic shelter, 655 Rainier Blvd. N.

You’ll learn how to preparing and plan your garden to successfully raise vegetables and edible plants.

Timing is everything, and nature operates on its own calendar. Tomatoes can’t be planted in April — and maybe even not May. Broccoli can’t be planted after April — unless you want to wait till October.

Master Gardeners provide research-based information for sustainable gardening and environmental friendly practices. You’ll learn how to get started, plant and seed basics, problem-solving and garden maintenance, how to maximize your harvest and much more.
