[ARCHIVED] Tips: Green Your Holidays

As we near the end of the holiday season, many of us find that we have accumulated more stuff that needs to be disposed of. Issaquah residents have many resources to recycle items that may otherwise go to the landfill.

• Holiday trees - Trees may be put in the yard waste bin if cut into three-foot sections. No flocking or tinsel is allowed.

• Used cooking oil - Residents may bring up to three gallons of used cooking oil in a clean, clear, screw-top plastic jug to the CleanScapes store in Gilman Village.

• Wrapping paper - All wrapping paper is accepted in the recycle bins in Issaquah.

• Christmas lights - Dead or old Christmas light strings can be dropped off at the CleanScapes store for recycling.

• Old electronics - Electronics smaller than 2' x 2' x 2' can also be dropped off at the CleanScapes store. For larger TVs, computers and monitors, drop off items at the AtWork Recycling Center at 970 7th Ave. N.W.
