In one short decade, we have totally changed the way we interact with one another. The millennial generation, the first to be socialized in a digital world, is now feeling the unintended consequences.
“CELLING YOUR SOUL” is a powerful and informative examination of how our young people actually feel about connecting in the digital world and their love/hate relationship with technology. It provides empowering strategies for more fulfilling, balanced and authentic human interaction within the digital landscape.
The film reveals the effects of “digital socialization” by taking viewers on a personal journey with a group of high school and college students who through a digital cleanse discover the power of authentic human connectivity, and that there is “No App” or piece of technology that can ever replace the benefits of human connection.
March 23, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Lake Sammamish State Park
The Washington State Parks Folk and Traditional Arts Program invites the public to celebrate spring at the 2019 Holi Celebration — the Festival of Colors — at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah.
The free annual event, which takes place at the park’s kitchen shelter, will include a Bollywood DJ, traditional music and dance and family-friendly activities sponsored by the Urban Wildlife Refuge Partners. Colorful, environmentally friendly paint powder and vegetarian Indian food will be available for cash purchase.
Holi, an ancient Hindu spring festival, is also known as the Festival of Colors or the Festival of Love. Festivities often involve people splashing or powdering their own or their companions’ skin and clothing with vibrant dyes. This carnival of colors is a special time, when participants of all ages, genders, classes and castes come together to socialize and say goodbye to winter.
A Discover Pass is required for those attending the festival by vehicle.

All youth will pass through a metal detector upon entrance. One dollar ($1) concessions are available. Parent volunteers are always needed; please call 425-837-3300 if interested.
