The City of Issaquah’s fiscal year corresponds with the calendar year. City budgets for each year are carefully crafted in a process that starts in June of each year and ends after public hearings and City Council approval in late December.

The budget represents the overall plan for allocating city resources to a variety of programs. These resources are necessary to protect the community's physical security, enhance the quality of life, and also provide for significant capital investments back into the community to enjoy and use for generations to come. The budget defines and sets in motion capital investments and service levels that create a lasting and positive legacy for our community.

Capital Improvement Plan
The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) contains valuable information concerning Issaquah's planned infrastructure investments over a 6 year time frame. Project design, land acquisition, construction costs and the projected means of financing are integral components of this plan. While projects may be present in the plan document, capital projects will not be budgeted unless there are reasonable expectations that revenues will be available to pay for them.
