Master Planning of Three City Anchor Parks
Park Rendering

Overview

The City of Issaquah is embarking on an effort to reinvest, reimagine, enhance and diversify three of our anchor parks for the Issaquah community today and for future generations. These three parks are Tibbets Valley Park, Veterans Memorial Park and the Creek Corridor (as a primary north-south system connecting many of Issaquah’s existing parks and trails).

Background
Issaquah’s parks, open spaces and trails have a significant role to play in Issaquah's livability and identity. In July 2018, the City adopted the Parks Strategic Plan. Throughout the development of the plan, some of what we frequently heard from the community was to enhance, improve and better connect our existing park spaces. This helped shape one of the core themes of that Plan:

PLACEMAKING – Collaborate with the community to reimagine and reinvest in Issaquah’s public spaces, parks and trails.  Maximize value and strengthen the connection between people and the parks/trails they share.
