Tucked away on the southwest end of Lake Sammamish is the South Lake Sammamish community, which includes the following neighborhoods:

The area also features Timberlake Park,  24 acres of predominantly forested land that includes a half-mile trail down to the Lake Sammamish shoreline and a small beach area. This park is connected to the Lakes-to-Locks Water Trail.

This family-oriented community was developed in the 1970s-80s, and annexed to Issaquah from King County in 2006.
